It was a tuesday evening and Tracy's friend was under the weather. This situation afforded us two tickets to see a performer that I hadn't seen and wasn't familiar with her music. I had heard a song on the radio at one point that was used in a recent television program, but I didn't have any real recollection of it. There were lots of girls there and I asked a couple of them if they were familiar with her music and they mentioned that she did some singing with Zero 7... and I remembered hearing them on public radio when I was living in L.A. I used to have KCRW on a lot and definitely remember that name being dropped. A brother walked up to us and began talking to us. He worked with her record company and was handing out samplers. We talked and I handed him a MZZL* cd and he said he'd load it into his mp3 player. We had a drink and sat through the opening band. Luckily one helped us through the other. The headliners came out with little pomp and got started. It was very nice. A lot of tall people collected in front of us and it was getting difficult to see, but I saw a couple of stools by the bar and we got a perfect view of her and the band. Her voice was good and as the evening went along I recognized her more and more... it was really a treat. She was cute and genuinely excited to be performing... doing so was enough for her... and it was refreshing. I had some hummus and a slice of pizza with a few Bells from tap. I was full. I was satiated by the experience. When the band left the stage they walked right by our seats, so I thanked them and when Sia walked up I told her she had done a great job and handed her a MZZL disc. She was so thankful she hugged me and it was nice... very nice... I recommend her. It was a great show and a great voice. I slept peacefully that evening...
