...to catch up on a few things. Trey (guitarist for BLAUDO/MZZL) & Sal (his wife & my pal) were in Chicago for a few days the other week. They, Tracy and I all had a good time sharing some goofs and some drinks and good food. I discussed the concept that I was trying to steer this away from being a restaurant review site (I mean, I've been to Speakeasy and Reza's, just to name a couple, but haven't said a thing... not even to mention the Brat Stop in WI that had Shiner Bock on tap...) but there was one experience I had to share. I like hot! I like intense food experience, be it the breathe-taking nasal-shock of wasabi or the physical capisan heat of peppers. We stopped to eat at a place called Adobo Grill on Wells. When salsa is brought to any table, I always have to ask if they have any in the back that is extra special hot. They usually do but save it for those who ask. I have to say that I had the hottest salsa I have ever had in a restaurant... ever. It was great. The guys working there were standing around whispering to one another after they put it on the table... and watching. Trey and I took a generous taste and I was red faced and sweating within a minute. It was like "creeper"... just kept getting hotter. I had the major endorphin rush of the day at that table. So, props to the Adobo Habenerro sauce. End food review. So, Trey brought me the existing drum tracks for a recording that has begun in Los Angeles. So far they have tracked the drums on 9 of the songs and 4 more are to come. I'm very excited about this recording and have been asked to lend my vocals to the project, which I consider to be an honor. These are songs that they have composed and I wrote lyrics for over the last year and a half. So, if there's anyone that anticipates new recordings from the makers of MuzzleLoader, hold on and your patience will be rewarded. I will be traveling to L.A. at the end of August to begin tracking vocals. On the subject of MuzzleLoader, www.muzzleLoader.org is no longer functional for music and looks like it will soon be a site devoted to... guns, which is appropriate. We had the site for around 5 years and I missed the date to get the domain name back. I am sad to see it go on a level, but realize that things must change in order to progress. I will be adding some of the tracks and photos to this site, so only the names have changed to protect the guilty. (Thanks, Bon)
