Went to see Beth Orton at the Vic a couple of weeks ago. Had a couple of slices at Chicago Pizza and a beer over at Matilda before the show. We got there after the opening act and didn't have to wait too long for her to take the stage. She's a cute girl and her personality comes through her voice. I like her in any way she presents it from the folky more acoustic type music to the more ambiant technical. She impressed me with her guitar playing as well and did several songs solo. Her band was good and they melded well, allowing her to stand out and shine. She was even slighty goofy and giddy at times. I walked down to the front for the last couple of song and it was pleasant being in her presence. After the show I gave a stagehand the MZZL* cd and asked him to get it to her... also gave one to the sound guy and we headed home... Oh yeah,.. and happy four twenty...
